Running

It is true that I spend a lot of time running.  I could never express in words why I love it so much and I always felt that if I tried people would think that I was crazy!  Recently, I found a book called "Run like a Mother" that expresses everything I feel about running and more.  I highly recommend this book to all runners and Mothers. Now that I have some inspiration I think I can write down what I feel about running and why it is so important to me. 1.  I can eat a lot after a long run and not worry.  This is important because my job is stressful and stuffing my face makes me feel better!! 2.  When I run I have personal conversations with God.  I honestly think of him as my running partner and I talk to him like an old friend who understands me.  He listens really well and even though it is hard to cry and run at the same time (this only happens occasionally by the way) I feel much better being able to tell him in my own words my deepest...

Lopez

What a time we have had so far this summer!  Our most recent trip was to Lopez Island - one of the most peaceful places in the world.  The boys did a lot of things and had an amazing time doing what boys do best - get dirty! My good friend Pat invited us to her cabin and treated us like family.  What an amazing time we had with her and her grandchildren.  Wonderful kids- as we drove home Evan kept saying how nice they all were and I am sure their parents would be proud to know how they made my sons feel as guests. The pictures I took can describe our trip best. I cannot wait to go back!!

Where did the time go?

David 3 Evan 6 months When I look at this picture I have to accept that fact that I am no longer the new mother I used to be. My boys are much older now and I can't figure out when Evan quit sucking on a binky and David started using the potty!

Resolutions

It is that time of year again! I like making resolutions but keeping them is getting harder every year. The funny thing is...I do not feel like a a failure at the end of the year because I at least gave them some thought. This year I am at a loss. So, here is a quick list of options. Keep in mind options means OPTIONAL and therefore not written in stone. I still have two more days to figure things out. Finish what I start i.e. the knitting I have started and restarted several times. This could also include painting around the house. Find a new hobby . Not sure what that would be but I googled it and apparently pole dancing is a hobby. Pretty sure I am not going to pick that one! Mountain bike. Jason would laugh at this one but it terrifies me so it is a good thing to put on the list. If you have never tried it just imagine biking over rocks and sticks. Sounds easy but I always end up bleeding on my yearly ride with the hubby. Eat breakfast. Crazy right? I never wake up...

Day 6 -Super Heroes

I fully admit that I love superhero movies and action adventure flicks. I enjoy seeing the good guys blow things up to win or use their special powers to do away with evil. My earliest recollection of a superhero is WONDER WOMAN. I love her costume and the gold belt with matching lasso that makes people tell the truth. Now that I am a teacher I sure could use that truth teller! The main thing about Wonder Woman that I admired was her strength. She was not afraid to kick butt! I secretly think that I would be the same way if someone were to pick on my kids or friends. And, I would gladly were that gold crown while doing it. In my opinion, not being afraid to defend others (with or without special powers) could be done more in this world. I guess that is why the superhero type movies never get old from generation to generation.
